Ethical Trading
At Oliver Gibbs Carpentry & Joinery, we are committed to ethical trading.
This means that we seek to act responsibly and honestly in all aspects of business. As carpenters and joiners, ethical practice includes:
Environmental care
We only purchase timber from responsibly managed forests. We keep the use of electricity, fuel, water and hazardous substances to a minimum. We also seek to reduce, recycle and responsibly dispose of waste; we never fly-tip.
Reliable work
We aim to do a good job. We try to follow-up work to make sure that clients are happy with what we have done. And if we do something wrong, we have a clear complaint procedure to put it right.
Honest price
We are committed to fair pricing. We provide free written quotes and agree prices with clients upfront; we do not apply hidden charges. We work the hours that you are billed, sometimes more but not less.
Fair finance
We bank with the Co-operative Bank, which invests its money ethically. We accept cash for our client’s convenience, but not to avoid paying tax. All our work is properly invoiced and our earnings are declared.
And we are even partial to a fair trade banana at lunch!
