Oliver Gibbs is a carpenter and joiner based in Shrewsbury. Much of his carpentry and joinery is done by hand to fit individual requirements. Qualified
Before setting up his business, Oliver did his apprenticeship with a big company specialising in commercial property refurbishment. He gained his NVQ and City and Guilds qualifications in Site Carpentry. He also worked for a Shrewsbury firm doing domestic carpentry and joinery, including the restoration of listed buildings.
Bespoke
Oliver now works as a freelance carpenter and joiner for individuals and businesses. Each project is bespoke and begins by researching the client’s requirements. He mainly works as a sole trader but also with trusted sub-contractors on large projects. This includes fitting kitchens and wooden floors, through to large jobs like constructing timber roofs and eco-buildings.
Ethical
Oliver seeks to act ethically in all business. As a member of the Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin Trade Register he is committed to do a good job at fair price. He is one of the few tradesmen that publicises a complaint resolution procedure. He has liability insurance of up to £2 million pounds, and his work is risk assessed in keeping with his Health and Safety Policy. Clients pay no VAT charges on his labour, and he accepts bank cards.
